About Game

The puzzle offers a 5×5 grid to fill in Words or phrases in the gaps. Words and phrases are based on Clues. Clues columns are given on the left under Across and Down headings. Additionally, the New York Times offers some tools for hints. The tools are Rebus, Clear, Reveal, and Check. The game has a pen and pencil mode to customize the colors of the letters.

The puzzle resets after midnight in your time zone. For Weekdays and Saturdays, it resets on the previous day at 10 p.m., and for Sundays, the puzzle resets on Saturday at 6 p.m. Gamers can play it for free on its NYT Games app, official website in the games app, or on the Play tab of the New York Times News app.
